This is a tank that has always been standing in the shadow of the super-heavy Maus. At least in my eyes, its bigger cousin was always the cooler one. But since I already had the Maus in my collection, I wanted its smaller Kawaii cousin standing next to it in my display case.

In fact, I already had some experience with this tank. About a decade ago, I tried to build it from the old Dragon kit, but I never finished the construction and the project ended in the bin – just the Friul tracks survived. And when I was even younger, I built the Trumpeter’s E-100 when I was a teenager, and that one was one of my most successful builds – I won many awards with it in junior categories.

But I always liked the clumsy look of the E-100 hull with the Maus turret. Also, the figures on this model are no coincidence – the commander in the hatch is the same as the first figure that I painted for my Jagdtiger. I wanted to see if I made any progress over the course of four years that I’ve been painting figures. And the second one is the same one as on the Maus – the pose is perfect for this massive turret, and both models are now thematically tied together.
